Tommy Cooper + Ian Hendry Sketch (1975)

In 1975, Ian appeared as the special guest on the Tommy Cooper Show (‘Cooper’), which gave him an opportunity to return to his love of light comedy.

In a role that echoed the part he played as the motorcycle policeman in the film, The Sandwich Man (1965), Here, Hendry plays Officer Bryce, intent in catching Cooper on an ‘under the influence’ charge.

Tommy Cooper was a good friend of Ian’s and the story is expanded upon in greater depth in the book, Send In The Clowns – The Yo Yo Life Of Ian Hendry by Gabriel Hershman.
